I have felt really good today considering I haven't had much sleep, usually I find that I feel very tired and just not quite right but today I felt like I had a lot of energy and I felt quite happy. I struggled to get enoough calories today, I find that it's always a bit difficult after a night shift as I don't have breakfast until I get up which is generally around 12. So really it's lunch time but I'm just having my breakfast so everything gets pushed back a little. Eating a raw food diet and working nights is definitley feasable. The only difficult thing is seeing all the chocolates, cakes and biscuits that are available. LOL At the moment I'm going through a phase, where I'm thinking about what I'm going to eat when I finish the trial. I don't really have any specific foods in mind but I want to be able to go for a meal with my husband, friends and family and not have to just have a salad, it's difficult as there just isn't much available. I never was a person who bought salads, although I am getting used them now I still don't love them. I enjoy going out for meals, so I miss that a little. Obviously I can go out I just don't feel it's the same, I guess if I was doing this diet for a long period of time I would probably feel differently.
My weight dropped by 0.6lbs to 136lbs, net weight loss is 6.8lbs in 10 days.
What I've eaten today
Smoothie: 950g of banana and 100g of spinach
1kg of Galia melon
I actually ate two of these containers full of melon but I'd devoured the other one before taking a picture.
500g of lettuce, 100g of tomatoes, 200g of cucumer, 200g of red pepper and 200g of mango.
The sauce was made by blending the mango and the red pepper together and I think it was one of the best salad dressings I've ever tasted. It did, get a little sickly by the end but it tasted delicious and smelt amazing. The salad was a lot better but I'd forgetten that I needed to take a picture until I was halfway through.
Raw food diet summary
Felt great all day today but now that it has reached the end of the day I'm feeling very tired but I have another night to work so I can't think about having a rest on Saturday night. So far I'm pleased with how the diet is going, I now know that I can continue this way of eating until at least the end of the trail and from there I will have to see how I feel.
